What is Multivac Resale?
It is a website to showcase our listings of Certified pre-owned packaging machines.
Are all machines pre-owned?
No. Due to the success of the site we have expanded the listings to include used Multivac machines, trade exhibition machines and last year's show room models.
Where do the pre-owned machines come from?
Most Multivac machines are trade in units coming directly from our existing customer base. Many customers regularly evaluate their businesses and purchase newer models to cover expanding production, packaging design changes, the addition of accessory options or simply because they desire a new model. Some used machines also come to us as a result of our leasing or rental programs.
What condition are the machines in when you receive them?
The conditions will vary. Our machines come from the small business owner running the machine 1 hour a day all the way to the large processor that operates its equipment 7 days a week and 24 hours a day.
When is a machine ready for the Multivac Resale website?
All machines are prepared with the same final goal in mind. To provide our customer with a ready-to-run machine that will immediately produce packages with trouble-free operation for years to come. The level of machine preparation depends upon the incoming machine condition. After the demanding quality inspections are finished, the machine is ready for shipment.
How do you determine the amount of preparation to be done?
It is based on the overall condition when we receive the machine and after our evaluation. Some machines arrive in such excellent shape that they only require the 200-point inspection, service maintenance and wear part renewal. On the other end of the scale, some used machines are candidates for total remanufacturing.
What does total remanufacturing mean?
It means only the original machine chassis is retained. Every item that has experienced wear is replaced with new OEM components. This will include chains, sprockets, bearings, motors, valves, belts, amplifiers, contactors, overloads, relays, hoses, etc. These new OEM components are installed onto the freshly sanitized chassis by factory trained technicians; we use only factory supplied fixtures and assemble to factory certified specifications. We do not rebuild by simply replacing parts, we remanufacture.
Why is the “OEM Certified” designation so special?
Because only Multivac can do this. The Multivac packaging machine is simple and efficient to operate/ maintain when it remains as originally designed and engineered. Use of the high quality OEM components guarantees this performance. This, along with accurate re-assembly to factory specifications, is essential to protect your investment and ensure a productive machine life.
Do the machines come with any warranty?
Yes. The standard warranty is for six months but many may qualify from the date of installation but some models may actually qualify for a full 1 year.
Do we get the full support of Multivac worldwide support services?
Absolutely. One of the greatest benefits of staying within the Multivac family is the complete support of our organization, anywhere in the world you need it. You have access to the same experts in engineering, training, sales support, package design, OEM replacement parts and systems that you get when purchasing our new lines.
Why do some models say Europe and others USA?
This lets you know the stocking location of the listed machine. The two main locations of the pre-owned machines are in Germany and the USA. As factory certified remanufacturing facilities, they are also the current stocking headquarters for all used or demonstration machines.
